When does Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? premiere?
Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? begins airing in Japan on January 7, 2027, at 12:26 a.m. JST. The official schedule places the series in MBS and TBS’s Super Animeism TURBO block, with a simultaneous broadcast across 28 stations. Japanese late-night schedules sometimes write this as Thursday at 24:26; it is the same slot as Friday at 12:26 a.m. by calendar time.

What is the anime about?
English-language sources use both Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? and the earlier rendering Are You a Jirai Girl, Chihara-san?. The English manga publisher Seven Seas uses the Landmine title; earlier anime coverage used the Jirai Girl rendering. AniNextUp keeps both names here to make the series easier to find.
The story follows high-school student Kuroki, who is seated next to Mai Chihara at the start of a new school term. Rumors and Chihara’s dark “jirai-kei” fashion make her seem intimidating. As Kuroki gets to know her, he finds that the girl behind the reputation is more unexpected—and often more awkward—than the rumors suggest. The official site describes it as a school comedy about the classmates’ changing impressions of each other.
Cast and staff
The official cast includes Sayumi Suzushiro as Mai Chihara, Kazuki Ura as Kuroki, Maaya Uchida as Chinatsu Iwakura, Tomokazu Sugita as Hibiya and Daisuke Ono as Kazami. Yasuaki Fujii directs, Keiichiro Ochi handles series composition, and SynergySP produces the animation.
