Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love: January 2027 Release, Trailer & Cast
Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love premieres in Japan in January 2027. Its October 31 main trailer previews Enako's opening song and the supporting characters' voices. A December 13 cinema event will screen the first two episodes early, while the regular broadcast's exact starting date remains unannounced.

Japan: AT-X, Kansai TV and TOKYO MX · Animation: Sakura Create · International streaming: unannounced
When does Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love premiere?
Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love is scheduled for January 2027 in Japan. The official main promotional video names AT-X, Kansai TV and TOKYO MX among its broadcasters. An exact first broadcast date and weekly times are still to be announced. The separate December 13 event is an advance cinema screening of the first two episodes; it does not move the television premiere into December.
That distinction matters when adding this series to a watchlist. January is the regular broadcast window, while the December screening requires an event ticket and attendance in Tokyo. Neither announcement supplies a worldwide streaming schedule. Our anime release calendar tracks the television window separately from weekly episode listings, which become useful once dated broadcast information is available. Watch the official main trailer
The main PV is linked directly from the production's October 31 news notice and is hosted by KADOKAWAanime. It runs for 90 seconds. The announcement also introduces Enako as the opening-theme performer and as the voice of Nene Haneshita. This is the official Japanese promotional video, rather than an English dub preview.
YouTube's original upload metadata records October 30, 2026 at 22:00:25 with the UTC−07:00 offset. That is October 31 at 14:00:25 in Japan. The apparent difference between the video's displayed calendar date and the Japanese announcement therefore does not indicate two different trailers. These times describe the upload, not the anime's future broadcast slot.
What is the story?
Rinna Isshiki Milford is a gifted police inspector who graduated at the top of her university class after advancing through school early. At 17, she works in a specialist modern-crime investigation unit and is known for her controlled, rational manner. The official introduction gives her the nickname “Steel,” setting up the contrast with a subject she cannot approach so confidently: her own romantic feelings.
Being around cooperating detective Meishi Rokutanda makes her heart race and disrupts her composure. Meishi proposes that they try dating, leading to a secret pretend relationship intended to investigate those feelings. Both are beginners at romance. The premise treats first love as a mystery that professional intelligence alone cannot solve, rather than presenting the partnership as an established couple from the opening.
Our reading of that setup is that the investigative setting supplies the comedy's vocabulary: evidence, uncertainty and an attempt to identify a cause. The emotional question is personal, however. Understanding a heartbeat is different from deciding how to act toward another person. That tension gives prospective viewers a clearer sense of the show's appeal than the police setting alone, which could otherwise suggest a procedural thriller.
Who voices Rinna, Meishi and the supporting cast?
The official Japanese cast list names Riko Akechi as Rinna and Shuichiro Umeda as Meishi. Haruki Ishiya voices Danjuro Iwata; Takuma Nagatsuka voices Masato Nakatani; Hiiro Ishibashi voices Chikai Matsumoto; Yu Wakui voices Rena Yamakawa; and Enako voices Nene Haneshita. These are Japanese production credits. No English-language cast is confirmed by the sources reviewed for this guide.
The four supporting roles voiced by Ishiya, Nagatsuka, Ishibashi and Wakui were already announced on September 24. Today’s PV introduces their character voices. That distinction keeps the update precise: the October news is a new opportunity to hear that ensemble, alongside Enako’s newly announced acting and opening-song roles.
Which studio and staff are making the adaptation?
Sakura Create is credited with animation production. Kazuya Komai directs, Deko Akao handles series composition, Shohei Hamaguchi designs the characters and MICHIRU composes the music. The original manga is by Ayune Araragi and runs in KADOKAWA's Monthly Shonen Ace. The anime's staff page distinguishes the manga credit from the television production roles.
The studio and staff identify the adaptation team; a television episode count has not been announced. That leaves its running length open even though the first two episodes already have an advance-screening date.
What happens at the December 13 advance screening?
The official event notice schedules episodes one and two at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas on Sunday, December 13, 2026. A talk follows the screening beginning at 13:55. Tickets cost ¥3,000. Riko Akechi, Shuichiro Umeda and Enako are scheduled to appear, with the notice warning that guests may change. The event is a chance to see the opening episodes early in a cinema.
The advance ticket lottery accepts applications from October 31 at 15:00 until November 23 at 23:59, with results scheduled for November 24 at 18:00. These are Japan-local event times, JST (UTC+09:00). The notice links Ticket Pia for applications. Because this is a lottery, submitting during the application period does not guarantee a seat; readers should consult the organizer's current conditions before making travel plans.
The screening and talk are described as an in-person event. The announcement does not promise an online stream or an overseas equivalent. A ticket to the cinema event also does not provide a subscription to the future television series. Treating these as separate access arrangements avoids the misleading impression that everyone can watch the first two episodes online in December.
What opening song and source manga are confirmed?
Enako performs the opening theme, titled 「剛よく恋を制す!?」. The official music page credits Yashikin with lyrics, composition and arrangement. It does not, in the material checked here, supply a separate commercial release timetable. An announced anime opening and the availability of a full-length song are different pieces of release information.
The anime's books page lists ten collected manga volumes. The official trailer description adds a more recent notice for volume eleven on December 24, alongside a link to an official first-chapter sample on ComicWalker. The older books-page display and the new video description therefore need to be read together. The December book release is another publishing date, separate from both the cinema event and January television launch.
What the key visual says about the romance
The official main visual places Rinna and Meishi on an autumn avenue, with golden leaves filling the space around them. Meishi's cap and cape keep the detective imagery visible, but the picture gives its attention to the pair looking at one another and bringing their hands close together. The warm setting is a useful counterpart to Rinna's severe nickname: the advertising sells a tentative personal connection rather than a dangerous case.
The most interesting contrast is between knowing how to perform a role and knowing how to respond to another person. A police inspector can rely on procedure, while an uncertain romantic gesture has no equally reliable script. The visual makes that distinction in a small action instead of an explanation. That is our reading of the promotional artwork, not a claim about a scene's place in the episode order.
How to find the manga in English
Yen Press publishes Ayune Araragi's manga as Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love. Readers searching under Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love can use the author's name and the two leads to identify the same series. The publisher's first-volume listing dates the English release to October 13, 2026 and provides paperback and digital options, plus a preview. That book is available ahead of the television launch.
The English edition also gives newcomers a practical way to try the premise without looking for an unaired episode. Begin with volume one if you want to read along from the start. Japanese volume eleven's December date does not mean the English edition has reached the same point, and no anime endpoint has been announced. Manga readers can choose to read ahead, but a specific volume-to-episode conversion would currently be guesswork.
Where can international viewers watch?
The Japanese broadcaster list is confirmed; an international simulcast platform, territory list and dub schedule are not confirmed in the official announcements reviewed. We will add a distributor when a licensed service identifies the series and its regional availability. A Japanese promotional video being accessible on YouTube does not establish where complete episodes will stream.
For a romance watchlist while waiting, our Dengeki Daisy guide covers a separate January adaptation, and Hello, I am a Witch covers another romance with a different setting. Those are independent releases, with their own broadcast and distribution details.
