When does Sakamoto Days Season 2 come out?
SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 premieres in January 2027. Netflix has announced the month, but it has not confirmed a specific day or release hour. Until the service or the anime’s production committee posts a dated schedule, January is the most precise confirmed window.
The second season will stream on Netflix. The announcement does not give a separate release schedule for other services, so this guide will be updated if additional platforms or territory-specific dates are confirmed.
What does the new trailer reveal?
The official character trailer introduces three faces expected to matter in the next chapter: Etsuko Satoda, Sakamoto’s former teacher at JCC; Amane Yotsumura, a student at the assassin training institution; and Satoru Yatsumura, whose history is tied to Sakamoto. Netflix’s October update also revisits the season’s central setup: Sakamoto and Shin go undercover at JCC while members of ORDER face a dangerous assignment in Kyoto.
The trailer gives viewers a first look at those characters and the series’ mix of undercover comedy and assassin action. It does not establish an episode count, a weekly-versus-binge release pattern, or a full international schedule.

What is Season 2 about?
The story follows Sakamoto and Shin as they enter JCC, Japan’s assassin training institution, to investigate the elusive figure known as X, or Slur. At the same time, ORDER members Nagumo, Shishiba, and Osaragi travel to Kyoto for an assignment that turns into an ambush. Netflix’s synopsis says the season will also bring the shared past of Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion, and Slur into focus.
That setup gives the sequel two connected threads: Sakamoto’s undercover work at the school and a wider conflict involving the assassin organization. The official materials point to those story elements without confirming how many manga chapters the season will adapt.
Who is in the Sakamoto Days Season 2 cast?
Netflix’s current Season 2 updates identify the returning characters Natsuki Seba and Akira Akao, alongside new characters Etsuko Satoda, Amane Yotsumura, and Satoru Yatsumura. The latest Netflix announcement does not provide voice-actor credits for every new character, so we are keeping the character list separate from unconfirmed casting details.
Netflix previously listed the Season 1 Japanese leads as Tomokazu Sugita (Taro Sakamoto), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shin Asakura), Ayane Sakura (Lu Shaotang), Nao Tōyama (Aoi Sakamoto), and Hina Kino (Hana Sakamoto). Those are Season 1 credits; AniNextUp will update this section when Netflix confirms the Season 2 voice cast.
Where can you watch Season 1?
Netflix lists both parts of Season 1 on its service. Catching up before January is the clearest way to follow Sakamoto’s move from retired hitman to shop owner whose old world keeps pulling him back in.
What has not been confirmed yet?
Netflix has confirmed a January 2027 return and its streaming platform. The exact premiere day, release hour, number of episodes, weekly release pattern, and a complete Season 2 voice cast announcement remain unconfirmed in the official sources linked here. We will revise the guide when those details are published.
