Shueisha confirms the anime adaptation
Nue's Exorcist, the supernatural action manga by Kota Kawae, is officially being adapted into a television anime. Shueisha unveiled the project during its Jump PRESS presentation on October 12, 2026. The announced Japanese broadcast window is summer 2027 on the TV Asahi network. No exact premiere day has been confirmed.
Which studio is making Nue's Exorcist?
Studio Hibari is producing the animation. Hiroyuki Hashimoto is directing, with Hiroshi Seko responsible for series composition and Shunpei Mochizuki handling character designs. Takayuki Yamaguchi is the sound director, while MONACA is composing the music. These are announced production credits, not predictions about the final animation style.
Confirmed voice cast
The initial Japanese cast includes Kaito Miura as Gakuro Yajima, Saori Onishi as Nue, and Sayumi Suzushiro as Kazusa Suo. Additional cast members may be announced later; no further casting should be treated as official until the production confirms it.
What is the story about?
Gakuro Yajima is a student who has seen supernatural beings since childhood. After discovering a hidden room at his school, he encounters Nue, a mysterious spirit whose request pulls him into confrontations with dangerous supernatural entities. The original manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2023.
Is there a trailer?
Yes. The Jump PRESS reveal included an initial promotional video and teaser visual. Readers can find the official materials through the anime's official website and Shueisha's Jump Channel. These are official destinations; trailer availability may differ by region.

Release date and streaming: what is still unknown?
As of October 12, 2026, only the summer 2027 Japanese broadcast window is confirmed. A precise date, episode count, English dub plans and international streaming platforms have not been announced. A Japanese television broadcast does not automatically confirm a global streaming service.
