When does Maebashi Witches – Emoemories release?
Maebashi Witches – Emoemories: Blooming Witches is scheduled for a Japanese theatrical release on October 23, 2026. The official announcement describes the movie as a roughly two-hour reconstruction of the 12-episode TV anime, with additional animated scenes and Witchverse material.
The October 23 date is for Japan. The official pages reviewed for this update do not list an international cinema date or streaming service and date. Availability outside Japan remains unconfirmed.
What is new in the theatrical edition?
The movie revisits the television story in a feature-length edit and adds new episode material and songs. In an October 16 update, the official site shared six new stills and comments from director Shunichi Yamamoto and series composer and screenwriter Erika Yoshida about shaping the theatrical version.
This is a newly edited theatrical version of the TV anime, rather than an announced follow-up season. The original series follows five high school girls in Maebashi as they work toward becoming witches and perform for audiences in the Witchverse.
First-week theater bonus
For screenings from October 23 through October 29, the official site lists a limited mini shikishi admission gift in one of five designs, illustrated by character designer Nozomi Tachibana. The gift is available while supplies last, and participation may vary by theater, so check with the cinema before attending.
